2 Law School Personal Statements That Succeeded | Top Law Schools

Deciding what to say in the law school personal statement is the most challenging part of the admissions process for some applicants.

“Even people who are good writers often have a hard time writing about themselves,” says Jessica Pishko, a former admissions consultant and writing tutor at Accepted, a Los Angeles-based admissions consulting firm. “That is perfectly normal.”

Pishko, who coached law school applicants on how to overcome writer’s block, says, “If you can find the thing that you really care about, that is who you are, and talking about that is a great way to write about yourself.”

Why Law Schools Ask for Personal Statements

Personal statements can offer J.D. admissions committees “a narrative” about the applicant, which is important because it is rare for law schools to conduct admissions interviews, says Christine Carr, a law school admissions consultant with Accepted who previously was an associate director of admissions

Texas Master of Science in Business Analytics | MSBA | McCombs School of Business

Considering MSBA

My major isn’t in a quantitative/technical field- can I still apply?

Our program is open to applicants from any major. University coursework or professional experience in computer programming is required; knowledge of Python is preferred (those admitted to the program are strongly encouraged to learn Python prior to beginning the program). Coursework in Linear Algebra and Calculus-based Statistics is strongly recommended for a competitive application.

Do you have a programming requirement?

We do not have a programming requirement for applicants, but we do strongly recommend that students admitted to the program without programming experience study on their own and come prepared for programming boot camp at orientation. Python is a good place to start.

Can I apply for Spring semester? When does the Spring (or Fall) application open?

The MS in Business Analytics begins in summer semester every year. We do not enroll students in the fall or

* KPMG reported on the results of obtaining evidence and applying specified audit procedures relating to selected survey data provided for the Financial Times 2020 MBA ranking for selected business schools. Enquiries about the assurance process can be made by contacting Lori Huber of KPMG at [email protected] The specified audit procedures were carried out between November and December 2019. Although the headline ranking figures show changes in the data year to year, the pattern of clustering among the schools is equally significant. The schools are divided into four groups, indicated by bold lines: those in groups one and two score above the average

Writing the Personal Statement for Medical School | Office of Career Strategy

The personal statement gives you the opportunity to present a compelling snapshot of who you are and perhaps why you want to be a doctor. Use your personal statement to say what others can’t. The personal statement can be a tricky genre to master. On the one hand, you want to give the admissions committee a sense of your personality and who you are. On the other hand, you must sound focused and professional, which sounds like it might impede your ability to capture your personality.

But this does not have to be the case. What you need to do is figure out how to say what drives you to want to become a healthcare professional in as specific a way as possible. The more specific you can be, the more the admissions committee will feel as if they have a sense of who you are.

You don’t need gimmicks,
