VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business announced this week that they will begin hosting webinars on key topics to help South Dakota businesses manage through crisis. The new effort is a collaboration between the state’s flagship business school and its outreach centers: the Prairie Family Business Association (PFBA) and the South Dakota Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota will continue remote delivery through the summer academic term, as announced by the South Dakota Board of Regents today.

VERMILLION, S.D. – In response to Gov. Kristi Noem’s Executive Order 2020-04 and amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, the South Dakota Board of Regents has determined all South Dakota public universities will transition spring classes online for the duration of the semester and postpone graduation ceremonies until further notice. The spring semester is scheduled to end May 8.

VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business will continue to host the 2020 Invent-2-Innovate Business Model Competition (i2i) in a virtual format. The competition is open to high school and college students and will award $7,000 in total prize money to aspiring entrepreneurs. The deadline to enter the competition has been extended to Friday, March 27, 2020.

VERMILLION, S.D. – Citing the continued high risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus throughout the United States and in the interest of public safety, the South Dakota Board of Regents (SDBOR) announced today that classes will temporarily move online for all of its institutions, including the University of South Dakota.

VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota has made the decision to cancel all spring sports through the end of the 2019-2020 academic year and all USD-hosted events through April 30 to mitigate the risk of exposure to COVID-19. This decision is based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and recommendations from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

VERMILLION, S.D. – The University of South Dakota, along with the state’s other public universities, will extend their spring break by one week and cancel non-essential travel in an effort to reduce the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

VERMILLION, S.D. – University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business students Joshua DeGroot and Ethan Walker were recently accepted and offered full-ride scholarships into KPMG’s Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics (MADA) program.

VERMILLION, S.D. – The students of Pi Sigma Epsilon at the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business took home several top prizes at the Midwest Regional Conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
